Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during the meeting?

Most meetings are fairly quick – usually less than half an hour.

Once you feel comfortable we will ask to see a couple of I.D. documents, such as passport and proof of address. We’ll need to take a copy of these, but rest assured that this copy stays private and won’t be used elsewhere.

In case you need to sign the document in front of the notary, we can print it for you if you don´t bring it to your appointment.

If the document needs an apostille or stamp by any embassy/consulate, you will leave it with us and our dedicated inhouse legalisation team will attend to this for you.

What is “legalisation/apostille”?

For documents to be used abroad, they normally need not only be notarised but also legalised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Some countries also require Consular legalisation. Our dedicated inhouse legalisation team is on hand to advise you of the requirements and attend to this for you. We do ask that you double check the requirements before instructing us on the process as certain Notaries in other jurisdictions will accept documents without the apostille.

Do you help with getting the “stamp” from Embassies/Consulates?

Yes we do. We are familiar with all the requirements, prices and timescale of the embassies/consulates in London so our dedicated in house legalisation team will handle this for you. No delay. No fuss. We like to keep things simple for our client.
