Legalisation Services By FCO & Consulates
If you need your document to have effects abroad, you’ll likely to need the Apostille of The Hague. Most documents to be used abroad must also be legalised by the FCO and sometimes attested by the relevant Consulate/Embassy. A confirmation from a chamber of commerce could also be necessary for some commercial documents. We’re highly experienced at preparing and submitting documents for legalisation, and can liaise with the FCO, appropriate embassy, consulate, or chamber of commerce on your behalf.
Legalisation of your documents at the FCO
If you require the services of the Foreign Office to apostille a document issued in the United Kingdom, you have two possible routes: the Standard Service and the Express Service, depending on how fast you need to have your documents back.
The Standard Service is more cost-effective and can be used for documents that are not time critical. Documents to be apostilled will be sent to the Foreign Office and then returned to you after the apostille has been affixed (6-10 days turnaround).
With the Express Service one of our team will take your documents to the Foreign Office for legalisation in person, and the legalised paperwork will be returned to you the next day (for appointments before 11am, or within 2 days for appointments after 11am).
Consulate, Embassies and High Commissions Services
For some countries, you might need the attestation by the relevant Consulate or Embassy in addition to the Apostille of The Hague. A confirmation from a chamber of commerce might also be necessary for commercial documents or invoices.
